So the story started back to the month of August, when the time I purchased my Macbook Air 13”, I remembered that I was pretty excited because its extra slim size as well as its amazing design, and of course in that time I did not even realized the problem of having laptop keyboard case for protecting my Macbook keyboard because I thought it was unnecessary, “a laptop keyboard protector will only compromise how my Macbook laptop look“, that was what I thought at the first place. Until 2 weeks after the purchased, a sudden incident had totally changed my point of view regard to put a keyboard protector on my Macbook. Today, I would like to share my story here to make sure such tragedy will never repeat again for our 123InkCartridges fans.

The incident actually came real fast and it was actually my fault. I remembered that I was in Starbucks and I accidentally spilled the entire coffee cup directly onto my keyboard, the air was suddenly remain deadly silent and I could still heard the voices like “OH MY GOD! It’s a Mac !!!!” and in that moment I started to feel regret for not installing any keyboard protector for my Mac at the same time worry whether my Apple warranty was going to be voided because coffee drop has been classified as water damage, which will definitely not covered from Apple. Since it was just the second week after the purchase of that $14xx laptop, it is perfectly normal for me to worried about the fact that if I might have to spend much more money just to fix that problem.

So I went to the Apple store at the next day after that incidence, the technician did the investigation for me, fortunately, the technician informed me that no serious problem has been detective, rams were okay, hardesk was okay, graphic card was okay, and the only problem which I had is the sticky residue below my keyboard and also the I/O logic board was damaged and thus need to be fixed asap, so the cost for exchanging a new I/O board was just $15 bucks around which is pretty cheap, but a completely change for the Apple keyboard will cost $200 and believe me, the issue can be more serious if other hardware are found defective, and also you have to consider the fact that I was still covered under the one year Apple warranty. “What will be happen if such tragedy happen again?” those are the question always running through my head, thus, I had finally made a dicision by putting the silicone keyboard case, even I knew that it was too late, but at least with this now I feel totally safe!
